Cambria Windows & Doors: The Jacksonville Owner’s Guide
Cambria windows and doors in Jacksonville typically run $4,500 to $15,000 installed, depending on the series, size, and whether you’re replacing a single unit or a full opening. We stock Cambria-compatible hardware, balances, weatherstripping, and insulated glass units in our Jacksonville shop, and we install them with a written price before any work starts. Most homeowners discover a problem the hard way: a window that won’t stay up, a door that suddenly drags against the jamb, or condensation you can’t wipe away because it’s trapped between the panes.
Which Cambria Models This Applies To

Cambria’s window line breaks into three rough categories: single-hung and double-hung for standard openings, casement and awning windows for wider openings and ventilation, and sliding patio doors for exterior access. The parts are not interchangeable. A double-hung balance from a 200-series will not fit a 300-series frame, and a casement hinge arm is specific to left-hand or right-hand operation. Look for the model number on a sticker on the top edge of the sash or the inside of the door frame rail. If the sticker is gone, measure the visible glass width and the overall frame width, and bring us a photo of the corner joint and any hardware that’s still attached. That gets us to the right part faster than a guess.
On OEM versus aftermarket: Cambria’s original hardware is fine, but the company has changed suppliers twice in the last decade, which means some older parts are now on long lead times from the manufacturer. For most balances, rollers, and weatherseals, we use OEM-spec aftermarket parts from suppliers we’ve verified against Cambria’s extrusion profiles. The material is often identical; the difference is availability. Where OEM is the only safe fit – certain casement operator arms and multi-point lock mechanisms – we order OEM and tell you the lead time before you commit to anything.

Signs Your Cambria Windows & Doors Is Failing
- Window won’t stay open or needs two hands to lift. The balance system (either spiral, block-and-tackle, or spring) has lost tension or the shoe has stripped out. This is the most common failure we see in Jacksonville, and the humidity shortens the life of the internal springs.
- You can hear air or feel a draft even when the window is locked. The weatherstripping has compressed beyond recovery or the sash has shifted out of square. In older Cambria units, the pile weatherstrip on the meeting rails wears flat after about eight to ten years here.
- Condensation or fogging between the glass panes. The insulated glass seal has failed. The desiccant inside the spacer can only absorb so much moisture in a Jacksonville summer before the unit fogs permanently. This is a glass replacement, not a repair.
- Patio door drags, scrapes, or won’t latch. The roller assemblies at the bottom of the door have worn or seized. Jacksonville’s sandy soil and frequent rain push grit into the lower track, and that grit chews through the roller bearings in a few seasons.
- Lock or latch doesn’t engage without forcing it. The lock body and the keeper have drifted out of alignment, or the multi-point mechanism has a bent rod. Forcing the lock is how homeowners crack the escutcheon plate or strip the screws out of the stile.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

Here’s what we charge in Jacksonville, written plainly:
- Single window balance or roller replacement: $180 – $340 per window, parts included
- Full weatherstripping replacement (per window): $120 – $260
- Insulated glass unit replacement (per sash): $350 – $700
- Patio door roller replacement (both panels): $300 – $550
- Complete window replacement (per opening, installed): $900 – $2,800 depending on size, series, and frame condition
- Full door replacement (sliding patio, installed): $2,500 – $6,500 depending on width and glass package
The range is driven by two things: whether the existing frame is square and sound (if it’s not, the labor goes up), and which Cambria series you own. Older units with discontinued hardware cost more because we have to adapt a current part or order the OEM equivalent. Every quote is a written line-item price before work starts. No number moves at the door. And the whole job is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the repair fails inside that year, we come back and correct it at no charge.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check a few things yourself: confirm the window is locked when you’re testing it, clear the patio door track of sand and leaves, and see if the weatherstripping looks flat or torn. What you should not do is attempt to replace a balance system on your own. The spring in a block-and-tackle balance is under constant tension, and releasing it wrong throws the shoe out of the frame fast enough to cut a hand. Cambria’s newer multi-point door locks have rods that need to be timed correctly or the whole mechanism binds. We’ve pulled enough bent rods and stripped screw holes out of Jacksonville doors to know that the do-it-yourself fix usually costs more than the service call would have. If the symptom matches anything above, call us at (904) 337-5929 and we’ll get a technician out to look at it before you buy a part that doesn’t fit.
FAQs

Expect 15 to 25 years for the frames, but 8 to 12 years for the moving parts: balances, rollers, weatherstripping, and locks fail first.
No. Once the seal fails and moisture gets between the panes, the glass unit must be replaced to restore clarity and insulation.
Most single-window and door roller jobs take 45 to 90 minutes once we’re at the house. Insulated glass replacement is a two-visit job because the unit is ordered to size.
We stock the most common balances, rollers, weatherseals, and lock sets for Cambria’s current and recent series in our Jacksonville shop, plus the aftermarket equivalents for older units. If we don’t have it, we’ll tell you the lead time before you agree to the work.
If you’ve got a window that won’t stay up or a door that fights you every time you open it, call (904) 337-5929. We’ll match the part to your Cambria model, give you a written price, and fix it right the first time. Scope it right the first time – the job goes a lot smoother when nobody’s surprised.
