Techo-Bloc Fence Installation: The Jacksonville Owner’s Guide
We install and replace Techo-Bloc fence systems across Jacksonville for $3,500 – $9,000, depending on linear footage, post type, and whether we’re working with existing concrete or pouring new footers. Most Techo-Bloc fence installations we handle are full runs, not single-panel swaps, because these walls are engineered as a system: post, panel, and cap all lock together, and a failed post usually means resetting the surrounding section. You’ll know it’s failing when panels lean out of plumb, corners open up, or the wall starts to bow after a hard rain.
Techo-Bloc manufactures modular concrete fencing panels and posts under several lines, including the Borealis and Rafale systems, both of which show up in newer Jacksonville communities from Nocatee to Bartram Park. These are not wood fences with concrete posts attached. They are interlocking precast units, usually 6 to 8 feet tall, with a tongue-and-groove panel profile that slides into routed post channels. When installed correctly on a compacted base with proper drainage, they hold up well here. When shortcuts happen with the base or the post embedment, Florida’s sandy soil and wet season will expose it within two or three years.
Bradford Remodeling Co Jacksonville is an independent contractor. We are not affiliated with Techo-Bloc. We buy panels and posts through the same regional distribution channels as other Jacksonville contractors, which means we can source exact-match replacements for current production lines.
Which Techo-Bloc Models This Applies To

Most of what we replace in Jacksonville falls into two Techo-Bloc fence families: the Borealis series, which is the textured, stone-look panel you see on higher-end infill lots and pool enclosures, and the Rafale series, a smoother modular panel used for privacy walls and boundary fencing. Compatibility matters because Borealis panels do not seat correctly in Rafale posts and vice versa. The post channel dimensions differ by just under half an inch, which is enough to prevent a clean fit.
If you’re not sure what you have, check the bottom edge of a panel or the inside face of an end post. Techo-Bloc stamps a mold code and, on newer runs, a series designation. Take a photo of the stamp before you call anyone. That one detail saves us a trip back to the yard and saves you time.
On the OEM versus aftermarket question: Techo-Bloc does not license third-party manufacturers for fence components. If someone quotes you “equivalent” panels at a steep discount, they’re likely substituting a different precast product with a different texture and color blend. Concrete color shifts are real, and a mismatched panel stands out in direct sun. We order Techo-Bloc panels by series and color code, and we verify the color batch with the supplier before ordering. Hardscape color lots vary, even from the same plant.

Signs Your Techo-Bloc Fence Installation Is Failing
- Panels leaning or out of plumb. This is almost always a post embedment problem, not a panel problem. In Jacksonville’s sandy soil, a post set too shallow or without proper gravel bedding will drift within a few wet seasons.
- Gaps opening at panel corners. Frost heave is rare here, but soil settlement is not. When one post settles and the neighbor doesn’t, the corner joint opens. You’ll see daylight through the seam.
- Panels spalling or flaking at the bottom edge. Concrete wicks moisture. If the panel base sits below grade or in standing water, the face starts to pop off in sheets. That’s a water management failure, not a material defect.
- Loose or tipped caps. Caps are usually set with adhesive or a mechanical clip. When they loosen, water gets into the post core and sits there. Over time that corrosion and moisture works its way into the panel seats.
- Wall bowing along a long run. Modular concrete walls have expansion limitations. A run longer than the manufacturer’s spec without proper expansion joints will bow in Jacksonville’s summer heat just from thermal expansion.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

In Jacksonville, a Techo-Bloc fence installation or full replacement runs $3,500 – $9,000 for most residential runs between 30 and 80 linear feet. The price includes removal and disposal of the failed wall, new gravel base where needed, post setting per Techo-Bloc embedment specs, panel placement, cap installation, and a final grade check so water moves away from the wall base.
What moves you toward the top of that range: longer runs, 8-foot panels instead of 6, removal of old concrete footers, and access issues where we can’t get equipment close. What keeps you at the lower end: a straightforward swap on an existing level base with a short run.
Every Techo-Bloc fence we install gets a written price before work starts, per The Garrison Standard. The same standard applies to the 365-Day Done Right Promise. If the fence shifts, leans, or the panels open up within a year of completion, we come back and correct it at no charge. You get that in writing at closeout, along with a clean site and a documented scope.
We also install other material systems around Jacksonville: KraftMaid and Wellborn cabinetry inside the house, Cambria and Silestone countertops, and the full hardscape range when a fence job turns into a yard-level scope. The point is that we work from material specifications, not guesswork.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely do two things before picking up the phone: photograph the panel stamp and the failing section, and check whether water is pooling at the wall base. Both of those answers help us quote the job accurately.
Setting concrete fence posts is not a casual Saturday project. A Techo-Bloc panel weighs between 80 and 120 pounds depending on series and height. Posts weigh more. If a panel slips while you’re seating it, you’re looking at crushed fingers or worse. Post embedment depth and gravel base spec are also the difference between a wall that lasts 15 years and one that leans after the first Jacksonville wet season. We’ve rebuilt enough DIY attempts to know that the concrete and materials cost more than the labor difference once you factor in a redo.
If the wall is leaning, spalling, or opening at the joints, call (904) 337-5929. We’ll scope it, price it in writing, and install it so the next time you think about that fence is when you’re deciding what to plant in front of it.
FAQs

A properly installed Techo-Bloc fence should hold structurally for 20-plus years in Jacksonville’s climate, with the caveat that the base drainage and post embedment matter more than the concrete itself. Panels can spall within five years if water is managed poorly at the base.
Yes, if the failure is limited to one or two posts and the panels are intact, we can pull the affected section, reset the posts on a proper gravel base, and re-seat the original panels. If panels are cracked or spalled, replacement is the honest fix. Call (904) 337-5929 and we’ll tell you which one applies after seeing photos or walking the site.
Most residential Techo-Bloc fence replacements in Jacksonville take two to four working days from removal to final grade. Custom color batch orders can add a week or more if the specific panel isn’t in stock at the local distributor.
We don’t warehouse panels on a shelf, because color batch matching means we order per job from the Jacksonville distributor once we confirm your series and color code. What we do stock is the installation knowledge and the equipment to set the posts right the first time.
Scope it right the first time. The job goes a lot smoother when nobody’s surprised. If you have a Techo-Bloc fence that’s leaning, opening up, or flaking, call (904) 337-5929 for a free estimate. Curtis Lane and the Bradford Remodeling Co Jacksonville crew will put the price in writing before any work starts, and stand behind it for a full year afterward.
