Belgard Windows & Doors: The Jacksonville Owner’s Guide
If you have a Belgard window or door that’s sticking, leaking, or won’t latch, the fix usually comes down to a specific part: a roller assembly, a hinge set, weatherstripping, or a lock mechanism. We stock and install Belgard-compatible window and door parts across Jacksonville, and most replacements run between $180 and $650 installed depending on the part and access. The call usually starts the same way: you’ve noticed a draft, a scrape mark on the track, or condensation between the panes that wasn’t there last year. We’ll match the part to your Belgard model, give you a written price, and get it done without turning a small repair into a replacement pitch.
Which Belgard Models This Applies To
Belgard’s window and door lineup is built around a few series, and the parts are not interchangeable across all of them. The Belgard Series 300 and 500 double-hung windows share some hardware with the Series 700 casement line, but the roller assemblies, tilt latches, and lock keepers are sized differently. Before we order or pull a part, we check the small vinyl sticker on the upper sash or the inside of the door jamb: it lists the series number, the glass package code, and the manufacturing date. If that sticker is gone or faded, we measure the sash thickness and the existing part’s screw pattern. For Belgard doors, the most common point of failure is the multi-point locking system, especially on French and sliding patio units. The aftermarket versions of these locks work, but the OEM keepers fit the pre-drilled mortises without chiseling. We’ll tell you which is which before you spend a dollar.

Signs Your Belgard Windows & Doors Is Failing
- Sash won’t stay up. The tilt-latch springs or block-and-tackle balances have worn out. Jacksonville humidity accelerates this because the vinyl tolerances tighten when the sash swells, putting more load on the balance than it was rated for.
- Door scrapes or drags on the track. A roller bearing has seized or the adjustment screw is out of position. We see this on sliding patio doors five to eight years in, especially on homes near the Intracoastal where salt air does its work on the bearing surfaces.
- Cold air at the edges. The weatherstripping has compressed permanently or torn at the corners. Most Belgard weatherstripping is a compression-fit extrusion; when it goes flat, no amount of closing force brings it back.
- Key turns but latch doesn’t throw. The multi-point lock’s gearbox has stripped a tooth. That’s a replace-the-gearbox situation, not a lube-it-and-hope situation.
- Glass fogged between panes. The insulated glass unit seal has failed. In Jacksonville’s wet season, a failed seal means moisture gets drawn into the air space. The fog won’t wipe off because it’s inside the IGU.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

In Jacksonville, you’re looking at:
| Part | Installed Price Range |
|---|---|
| Window balance or tilt latch (single) | $180 – $340 |
| Window lock or keeper set | $130 – $280 |
| Sliding door roller assembly | $220 – $450 |
| Multi-point door lock gearbox | $350 – $650 |
| Weatherstripping (one unit, all sides) | $160 – $320 |
| Insulated glass unit replacement | $400 – $900 per sash |
The range comes down to three things: whether the part is OEM Belgard or a quality aftermarket equivalent, how much disassembly the swap requires, and whether the adjacent hardware has been damaged by the failed part. We don’t give a low labor number and then hit you with a surprise line item at the door. The written price covers the part, the labor, the adjustment, and the cleanup. If the replacement fails inside one year, the 365-Day Done Right Promise means we come back and correct it at no charge. That’s the whole point of getting it right the first time.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check the manufacturer sticker, measure the sash, and note whether the problem is on the lock side or the hinge side. You can also clean the track and check for obvious screws that have backed out. What you shouldn’t attempt is removing a multi-point lock gearbox or a window balance. Balances are under spring tension, and releasing one without the right tool can break a finger or take out a pane. Same goes for lifting a heavy sliding door panel off its track by yourself; the panels on a mid-size Belgard slider weigh 80 to 120 pounds. If the part moves or the panel has to come out, call us at (904) 337-5929. We’ll come look, scope the fix, and hand you a written number before anything gets taken apart.
FAQs

Most hardware runs 10 to 15 years in Jacksonville’s coastal climate, but weatherstripping and insulated glass seals often fail earlier, typically in the 7 to 10 year range, because humidity and salt air work on them continuously. Call (904) 337-5929 if your hardware is under ten years old and failing; it’s usually a replace-the-part fix, not a replace-the-unit fix.
Some parts can be serviced, like a roller with a stripped adjustment screw or a keeper that just needs repositioning, but failed balances, stripped gearboxes, and blown IGUs are replace-only. We’ll tell you which it is before any money changes hands.
Most single-part replacements take 30 to 90 minutes on site, and we typically schedule them within a few business days of confirming the part and getting the written price signed.
We carry the common styles: balance assemblies, tilt latches, roller sets, and multi-point lock bodies for the Belgard series we see most in Jacksonville. Uncommon or series-specific parts are ordered and in hand before we schedule the install.
