Atlas Bathroom Remodeling: The Jacksonville Owner’s Guide

If you’ve got an Atlas bathroom fixture or component that’s failed, we stock and install Atlas-compatible replacement parts across Jacksonville, typically running $9,000 – $28,000 for a full bathroom remodel and $3,000 – $8,500 for a focused replacement like a shower unit. Most homeowners discover the problem the hard way: a valve that won’t stop dripping, a shower base that’s gone soft, or a door that’s suddenly off its track. The part number is usually stamped somewhere you can’t easily see, which is exactly why we send a technician who knows where to look.

Bradford Remodeling Co Jacksonville is an independent service provider. We’re not affiliated with Atlas, but we’ve been installing and replacing their bathroom components long enough to know which parts fail, which ones hold, and what actually fits your model without forcing it.

Which Atlas Models This Applies To

Atlas bathroom components have been installed in Jacksonville homes since before the post-2005 building boom, which means we see everything from early-2000s builder-grade shower pans to mid-2010s tub-to-shower conversions. The compatibility gotcha most owners miss: Atlas used different rough-in valve depths between their single-handle and dual-handle shower lines. A valve body stamped for a 2-inch wall depth will not seat correctly in a 3-inch wall without an extension kit, and forcing it is how you end up with a leak behind the tile six months later.

To identify your part, look for a small brass or plastic tag on the valve body, usually positioned under the handle escutcheon. The model code starts with two letters (AS or AT) followed by four digits. If the tag is gone, measure the distance between hot and cold inlets on the valve body. Atlas shower valves run either 6-inch or 8-inch centers. The shower pans are easier: measure the drain offset from the back wall. Atlas pans from this era are almost always center-drain, which matters when you’re swapping bases without moving plumbing.

For OEM versus aftermarket: Atlas still manufactures replacement cartridges and trim kits for their shower lines, so OEM is the safer route for anything that holds water under pressure. For shower doors and bases, we use documented aftermarket equivalents from the same regional suppliers we’ve run for years. The decision depends on whether the part touches water or just looks like it does.

Signs Your Atlas Bathroom Remodeling Is Failing

  • The shower valve won’t fully shut off. A worn cartridge is letting water through even at full stop. In Jacksonville’s hard water, the mineral buildup accelerates the wear. The fix is a cartridge swap, not a new valve, if caught within the first few months of dripping.
  • Water stains on the ceiling below. The shower pan liner has failed or the drain flange has separated from the pan. We see this most often in Riverside and Ortega homes with original 2000s-era pans under tile floors. By the time the stain shows, the substrate has been wet for a while, so the repair scope widens fast.
  • The shower door is dragging or off-track. Atlas roller assemblies wear unevenly, especially the bottom rollers on bypass doors. The failure usually starts as a grinding noise, then the door gets heavy. Lubricating it rarely helps because the roller bearing itself is shot.
  • Grout keeps cracking along the shower floor perimeter. The pan is flexing. Atlas fiberglass and acrylic pans from the mid-2000s were rated for their time, but two decades of thermal expansion against Florida’s humidity cycle takes a toll. Flex means the pan is compromised, not just the grout.
  • Persistent mildew odor that cleaning won’t solve. Water has gotten behind the wall or under the pan. A bleach spray on the surface won’t reach it. That odor is an active moisture problem behind the surface, and it’ll keep coming back until the source is opened up and replaced.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

A wood double vanity with two mirrors after a bathroom remodel

For an Atlas-specific bathroom repair or remodel in Jacksonville, you’re looking at these ranges:

  • Full bathroom remodel (Atlas-compatible components): $9,000 – $28,000
  • Shower replacement with Atlas valve and trim: $3,000 – $8,500
  • Bathroom vanity installation with Atlas-compatible hardware: $800 – $3,000

The range moves on what’s behind the failed part. If our tech opens the wall and finds the shower valve leaking has rotted two studs and the subfloor, that’s a different number than a clean-old cartridge swap. That’s why our written price always follows an on-site look, never a phone description. It includes the part, the labor, the substrate repair if needed, and a clean site at closeout. Every replacement carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise: if it fails within a year, we return and correct it at no charge. The price we write before starting is the price you pay. There’s no change order because we missed something during the walkthrough.

DIY or Call Us?

You can safely tighten a loose escutcheon plate, check the shower door’s top track for debris, and confirm whether the valve is visibly corroded. If you want to test the shutoff, that’s fine too. What we don’t recommend is pulling an Atlas valve body out of the wall on a Saturday afternoon without isolating the water lines first. The valve is soldered or threaded into copper, and the spot where the tub spout drop-ear fitting meets the wall is easy to crack if you put a wrench on it at the wrong angle. One cracked fitting inside the wall turns a $200 cartridge job into a $3,000 wall-open repair. If the symptom is anything beyond a loose trim plate, call us at (904) 337-5929. Curtis Lane will tell you straight whether it’s a quick service call or a bigger opening.
