Grohe Driveway & Pavers: The Jacksonville Owner’s Guide
Bradford Remodeling Co Jacksonville stocks and installs Grohe-compatible driveway and paver components throughout Jacksonville, with most replacements running between $250 and $18,000 depending on whether you need a single paver reset or a full driveway rebuild. We carry OEM Grohe parts for current production models and quality aftermarket equivalents for discontinued series. Most paver failures announce themselves with a lip you catch your toe on, a low spot that ponds after rain, or a brick that’s started to crumble at the edges.
Grohe doesn’t manufacture pavers directly, so when Jacksonville homeowners talk about “Grohe driveway parts,” they’re usually referring to the drainage channels, edge restraints, or jointing sand systems that Grohe specs alongside their hardscape products. We’ve handled enough of these calls to know exactly what’s on the truck and what has to be ordered. If you’ve got a paver that’s shifted out of plane or a drain channel that’s pulling loose, this page tells you what it costs, what we replace, and when you’re better off calling us instead of fighting it yourself.
Which Grohe Models This Applies To

Grohe’s hardscape line breaks into three families that show up most often in Jacksonville: the Grohe Drain 4600 channel series, the Grohe Edge 2100 paver restraint system, and the Grohe Set 1200 jointing compound. Each uses different spacing specs, and mixing them is the most common compatibility mistake we see on service calls. The Drain 4600 takes a 12mm grate-to-channel tolerance; the Edge 2100 is built for pavers 60mm to 80mm thick; the Set 1200 is rated for joints up to 4mm in pedestrian zones but only 3mm where vehicles park.
Here’s the gotcha that catches people: Grohe discontinued the Drain 3200 series about six years ago, and the current 4600 grates do not seat correctly in the older channel. If you’ve got a 3200 that’s failing, we’ll usually recommend replacing the whole run rather than trying to patch a grate that doesn’t quite lock in. On the paver side, if the underside stamp says “Grohe Pave” with a four-digit code, that’s the current run and parts are readily available. If it says “Grohe Stone” with a three-digit code, you’re into discontinued territory and an aftermarket match is the honest play.
We also stock parts for KraftMaid cabinets, Cambria surfaces, and Silestone countertops for the times a driveway repair turns into a broader exterior project.

Signs Your Grohe Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
Here’s what we see on Jacksonville jobs before the call comes in. Curtis Lane has walked onto enough sites to know the telltales.
- Pavers rocking underfoot. That’s a bedding layer that’s washed out, usually from a downspout or a sprinkler head aimed wrong. Once the sand bed goes, the paver moves, and the joint sand follows it into the void.
- Joint sand disappearing after every rain. Jacksonville’s summer thunderstorms expose weak joints fast. If you’re sweeping sand back in more than twice a year, the edge restraint has failed and the whole field is slowly spreading.
- Drain channel separating from the paver edge. Frost heave is rare here, but thermal expansion is not. Hot days and cool nights work a channel loose over time, and once water slips under it, the erosion accelerates.
- White crust along paver edges. Efflorescence, and it’s cosmetic mostly, but it tells you moisture is moving through the pavers. Repeated blooms suggest the drainage isn’t doing its job under the surface.
- Low spot that ponds water for more than two hours. A 1-inch sag over six feet means the subgrade settled. Patching the paver won’t fix it, the base underneath has to come back to grade.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

Here’s what we quote in Jacksonville, in writing, before any work starts. No numbers that move at the door.
- Single paver reset or replacement: $250 – $700, including new bedding sand and joint sand, matched to the existing field.
- Drain channel replacement (10-foot run): $800 – $2,500, parts and labor, graded to move water off the hardscape.
- Paver patio installation: $3,500 – $11,000, new base, edge restraint, pavers, jointing compound.
- Paver driveway installation: $7,000 – $18,000, full excavation, compacted base, edge restraint system, pavers, jointing compound.
- Full driveway replacement: $5,000 – $14,000, tear-out of the old surface, base correction, new surface installed to code.
What drives the range is subgrade condition. Jacksonville sits on clay in a lot of zones, and clay that’s been holding water for a decade compacts differently than sandy loam. If we have to dig out and recompact the base, the price goes up because the labor hours go up. Every quote is line-itemed: materials broken out, labor broken out, disposal broken out. And every completed job carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise. If a paver settles or a channel pulls loose inside that year, we come back and correct it at no charge.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check a few things yourself. Run a hose along the driveway and watch where the water goes, that tells you if your drainage channels are still doing their job. Look at the joint sand after a rain and see if it’s holding. If a paver rocks, you can usually tell whether it’s one brick or a spreading field by walking it barefoot.
Where DIY goes wrong is under the surface. Pulling pavers without recompacting the bedding layer just trades one problem for another in six months. And jointing compound is not sandbox sand, using the wrong material means redoing the work. If the subgrade has settled, no amount of surface patching fixes it. That’s the point where you call (904) 337-5929 and get a written price for the actual scope. Scope it right the first time, the job goes a lot smoother when nobody’s surprised.
FAQs

With proper base prep and drainage, you should get 25 to 30 years out of a paver field in Jacksonville’s climate. The failure we see most often isn’t the paver wearing out, it’s the base washing out underneath because a drain channel wasn’t graded right or an edge restraint let go. Fix the water, and the pavers last. Ignore the water, and you’re doing patch work every three years.
Sometimes, and we’ll tell you straight which one applies to your job. A cracked paver can usually be swapped for a matched replacement. A settled paver needs the bedding layer rebuilt under it, which is a repair, not a replacement. But if the subgrade has failed, repairing the surface is throwing money at a temporary fix. Call (904) 337-5929 and we’ll walk the site and give you an honest answer in writing.
A single paver reset is same-day work, usually a few hours. A drain channel run is a day. A full paver driveway takes three to five days depending on access and how much excavation the subgrade requires. We’ll give you the timeline in the written quote, and we hit it.
We stock the common Grohe Drain 4600 grate sizes, Edge 2100 restraints, and Set 1200 jointing compound on the trucks that run Jacksonville service calls. Discontinued-series parts like the Drain 3200 have to be ordered or matched aftermarket, and we’ll tell you what’s available before we quote the job so there are no surprises. Call (904) 337-5929 for an exact quote, estimates are free.
